Safeguarding Deaf and Disabled Children
Triangle has been working alongside the NSPCC to produce a new training DVD to raise awareness about the additional vulnerability of deaf and disabled children to abuse and neglect, and to help everyone who works with children know how they can safeguard deaf and disabled children more effectively. It is particularly relevant to professionals in education, health, children’s social services, the police and the justice system, whether their area of expertise is safeguarding, disability or deafness.
The DVD contains:
- An information film about why deaf and disabled children are at greater risk of abuse and how we can safeguard them more effectively
- Eight short scenarios – people expressing concerns
- Two longer, dramatised scenarios – Kayleigh’s story and Anil’s story
- Interviews with professionals reflecting on the films and the issues they raise
The films are supported by:
- Prompt sheets to guide trainers and facilitators in using each of the scenarios
- Handouts on key issues
The pack is available to order through Triangle for £125 (inc. p&p and VAT)
